Dr. Pat Robinson and daughter

A young woman's education is the key to making wise choices. Teens are helped to understand how to prevent unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease. If they are unsure what questions to ask us, we will help them to learn about their changing bodies. Problems with menstruation such as painful cycles, irregular or heavy bleeding are solved using a family oriented approach.

Hopefully, information will prepare them to make wise decisions when encountering the dangers of drug, tobacco and alcohol use as well as the consequences of precocious sexual activity.

Establishing health habits early in life goes a long way to preventing health problems later. This is the time to receive the immunization to prevent cervical cancer and genital warts: the HPV vaccines Gardisil and Cerverix.

Many women encounter common gyn problems: abnormal pap smears, painful menstrual cycle, abnormal uterine bleeding, sexual problems, frequent vaginal and bladder infections. Pregnancy prevention and spacing as well as surgical and non-surgical methods of sterilization are available. Planning pregnancy should start before conception.

Dr. Robinson is an expert in the evaluation of problem pregnancies and fetal assessment with ultrasound and amniocentesis. We evaluate skillfully and treat with compassion recurring pregnancy loss.

Menopause and Midlife

The time before menopause is an optimal time to assess individual health risks and prevent health problems from developing. During this decade, women often experience abnormal menstrual bleeding, exacerbation of pre-menstrual symptoms, or painful periods. Weight gain is a major concern. Controlling a healthy weight to prevent obesity, diabetes and heart disease is in the minds of many of our patients. As parents and other family members age and become ill, women wonder about their own risks to develop breast, uterine, ovarian and colon cancer. Maintaining bone strength, prevention of osteoporosis and fracture risk need to be assessed. Every woman can expect to receive individualized and expert care.
